Training Lesson Plan - 30 minutes

9:20 a.m. - 9:55 a.m. – 10:40 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.

Start in kitchen area – greet students – go over rules.
Have children identify hazards. Speak on each hazard.
  • Pot handle sticking out – show how to extinguish small stovetop fires by covering with lid.
  • Paper towles over stove
  • Mittens and hand towels
  • Lamp by sink
Open cabinet under sink and continue with identifying hazards
  • gasoline stored under the sink

  • paint
Move their attention to the electric heater
  • heater by tablecloth
  • heater by magazine rack
  • electrical cord under rug
Show Fire Extinguisher by door
  • Remember password - Pull Aim Squeeze Sweep!

9:35 a.m. - 10:10 a.m. – 10:55 - 11:30 a.m. 
Move to Bedroom Area
  • Discuss playing with matches
  • Use of Candles - handle with care
  • Discuss use of smoke dectors
  • Discuss two exits/meeting place
  • Explain how to successfully exit window
  • Sleeping with doors closed
  • Rolling out of bed
  • Crawling Low in Smoke
  • Stop Drop and Roll
Firm Arm Safety
  • Tell a grown up if you find or see a gun or bullets
  • Guns are dangerous and you should never touch or play with one.
9:50 a.m. - 10:25 a.m.
